Something About Me

Hello friend and welcome to my book blog!

For me, books are a constant companion in a less than constant world. Born in Minnesota, I’ve bounced around the Midwest and the West Coast, and finally have ended up right back where I (literally) began–Minneapolis, MN. I miss my gorgeously overcast Seattle. I was finally feeling like I had a home, a place, but the Midwest has always been drawing, coaxing, pulling me back towards the coldness and the snow…

I’ve been rootless most of my 20-something-odd years, longing to sink myself permanently into a single place and just be…but every week I pack my life into a tiny suitcase and travel across the US for my job. And the only place where I can have the simple and uncomplicated existance I long for is within the pages of a book.

I can usually be seen reading fantasy novels, historical fiction (Tudor fiction espeically), young adult books, and good ol’ literary fiction. My favorite book by my favorite author is Deerskin by Robin McKinley.

For an idea of books I enjoy (or don’t enjoy) this post and this post are fairly representative of my tastes.

  1. I hope you find what you are looking for in your new (renewed) hobby of blogging.

I am fairly new to blogging and wish that there were more hours in the day and more days in the week, until I realize that would only require me to work more and I still wouldn’t have enouh time to blog. So I too am trying to take time for myself and am using my blog for it. Best of luck. Happy reading!

  2. This is my first visit here! I’ll be back.

Great blog header…just sweeps me into the photo!

    • I’m so happy to hear that! I was a little disappointed by the first layout of my blog and fought my unreliable internet connection all weekend to make it better.

Glad to hear you like it!
